First Visit

Brief Paperwork

On your first visit to Beacon Chiropractic, you will be greeted at our front desk and asked to sign-in to the office. We will ask you to complete the new patient paperwork, if you have not completed it prior to your arrival. A link to new patient paperwork can be found on one of the navigation tabs above. If you have not completed your paperwork before your appointment, please arrive 20 minutes before your scheduled appointment time to allow for adequate time. The paperwork provides us with valuable information about you and your condition.

Consultation

Once the paperwork has been completed, you will have a consultation with the doctor to discuss your health-related problems, concerns, as well as potential treatment options. You will be brought into the examination room to privately discuss your health questions and concerns.

History and Examination

In order to better understand your presenting complaints and medical history, the doctor will ask you various health-related questions. We will ask you to change into a provided gown so that the doctor can access your back. Next, the doctor will perform a comprehensive examination that includes neuromuscular assessments and a detailed chiropractic exam. Typically a consultation and examination takes about 45 minutes to an hour to complete.

X-ray Studies

If deemed necessary, we will obtain a full-spine x-ray of your back. Our x-ray unit is located directly within our office for convenience. Full-spine x-rays are taken in two views to allow for a comprehensive view of your spinal anatomy. Additionally, an x-ray of an extremity such as a shoulder or knee may be performed if necessary. These x-ray films provide essential information for the doctor about factors such as your spinal structure and the global perspective of your spine.

Schedule Your Next Appointment

In order for the doctor to thoroughly analyze all of your information gathered from the first visit, we ask that you return at a convenient appointment time within 1-2 days for your first adjustment. This allows us at King Family Chiropractic to provide you as the patient with the very best care possible. At the time of your next appointment, Dr. Madeleine will provide a review of findings and discuss treatment options with you.

Home Instructions

Prior to leaving, patients will be given instructions on certain activities or procedures to be conducted at home. This may include ice or heat application instructions, avoidance of certain activities or positions, as well as home exercises and/or stretches.
